Hello. I'm John Jervis.

I recently founded the Jervis Bench Company with a rather unusual product line, in-ground, wooden landscape furniture. The concept is simple and the thinking is new.

It is my philosophy that landscape furniture should be an integral (built-in) part of a refined landscape design. Furnishing an outdoor space will determine how, or how much, people will use it. Landscape furniture doesn’t need to be a temporary adornment which can be blown away or carried away. It should stay put like the trees and grasses, the rocks and water. It should be there securely when you want it, for the decades.

Designing the product line was much more than designing the furniture. It was designing/engineering an entire system aimed at delivering a high quality product at a very low cost. Substandard materials and poor workmanship are not an option. Our system is defined by economics, inefficiencies, and pragmatic creativity to produce quality at low cost. We don’t think you’ll want to pay for anything unnecessarily, yet you expect the very best. That is what we do.

Substantial costs were saved by designing and engineering the products to coordinate standardized lumber, hardware and even packaging materials. We work directly with our customers avoiding additional  distributor markups. There are no warehouse inventories, we build everything to order. On-Site Assembly and Finish (OSAF) dramatically cuts your cost of delivery since products ship flat,without the expensive and wasteful packaging materials needed to protect delicate finishes. On-site assembly is quick, easy, and then you can choose any level of finish or color you like… or none at all.

In-ground landscape furniture has never before been so quick, inexpensive and rewarding. It’s an exciting new option that I hope you will consider.
